Had an excellent few days in Devon and Cornwall with lots of photo opportunities! Please check out the new Cornwall section in the Gallery Section of the main website, and some added pictures of Exeter and Castle Drogo in the other relevant categories and sections.  Small sample below of the Eden Project, The lost Gardens of Heligan, Exeter, the Gardens of Castle Drogo and the lovely Cornish Coast repectively.

A fathers day visit to Basildon Park. We had a look inside the house which has some interesting stuff but I only took pictures outside. The gardens are not the typical manicured big house gardens but Basildon Park is surrounded by beautiful English countryside and I'm definitly going back for more exploring! I recon it will be great in Autumn.

I'll spare you all the real hardcore geology shots I took on this fieldtrip but we visited some amazing places, tasted some nice wine on a vineyard visit, and even non-geologists like dinosaurs so check out the footprint! And isn't mother nature amazing? Thought I'd include the amazing colours of some rocks for good measure! :)

After a visit to the Belgian Embassy round the corner I had a little stroll through Hyde Park. The grass and trees have that spring freshness and although not necessarily a fan of modern art I couldn't not take some pictures of it, including the tents of the Walk the Walk event (Walk the Walk in aid of Breast Cancer Research was held in Hyde park on 15th of May)

What should have been a lovely day out was rather spoilt by getting stuck in a traffic jam which turned a 20min journey into an hour and 20 min, but at least it was great weather.  A little stroll in the Cliveden grounds (shame all the daphs had wilted but the magnolias were in full bloom) and classic car rally (a couple of great cars, but I wouldn't call a modern TVR classic just yet). I had a good spot to see the cars drive into the grounds and managed some shots without other people spoiling the background!
